I've been an advocate for organic food for over twenty years. When I learned that over 3000+ substances that aren't "real food" but additives, chemicals, processing enhancers that are legally allowed in most conventional foods I knew the system was broken. Add to that fact, that 900+ synthetic active pesticides products registered for use in conventional farming by the EPA can all end up in the produce isle or in packaged junk food products on the grocery shelves just means one thing; our everyday food is killing us.

I just came across this article in the Organic Farmer August/September 2020 issue called "Improving Farming Systems For The Common Good" by Jeff Mitchell, Anil Shrestha, Tom Willey and Jeannette Warnert. I felt the urgent need to share this one section now with the heading All About Health:

"The answer is simple. It's all about HEALTH- soil health, farm health and human health. Strengthening connections between these three dimensions of planetary health are now gaining momentum in the public, markets that farmers rely upon, but also increasingly by medical health experts. There is now a growing recognition that human health is intimately connected to the nutritional quality of the food we eat, which in turn is connected to health of farms that produce the food and ultimately to the health of the soil in which crops grow. These converging values lead to the recognition among a growing sector of society that "food is medicine," and that nutrient-dense food comes from healthy farms with biologically active soils."

Change is happening. It's our mission at The Organic Pantry Co. to help lead the way of making the pantry in your home one that enables your family to thrive on nutrient dense good for you organic snacks. Enjoy!
